Believers 4 Barack (NOT!) |

 Not really...
Pretty soon I will have to use one of my 900 word syndicated pieces to address this but let me just say it this way. If an evangelical Christian votes for Barack Obama - he/she is voting against the biblical doctrines, precepts, and instructions on: 1. Protecting the innocent 2. Feeding the hungry 3. Helping the poor 4. Defining the family 5. Defending the helpless 6. Assisting with murder (down's syndrome babies in particular) 7. Biblical doctrine of work 8. Self Responsibility 9. Encouraging the engagement of immorality 10. Parental responsibilities 11. And worldview matters... Sex ed for 5 year olds, Death by starvation and neglect of Down's syndrome babies, Government theft and redistribution of earned resources you need to feed your family, FOCA (Abortion Act to overturn every limit on abortion ever passed), replacing a mom and a dad with two daddies/mommies, mandating of condoms - and prevention of the teaching of biblical sexual practice... You get the picture... "Religious people" in name only may vote for Barack, but Believers can not - because he stands opposed to what the Bible defines as genuine believers.

After receiving his party's nomination by a special act of affirmative action earlier in the day, Barack Obama popped on to stage to squeals of the long suffering conventioners that were nearly ready to poke their eyes out from the boredom of Joe Biden's acceptance speech! If Biden is supposed to bolster the ticket - expect yet another dip in the overnight tracking polls tomorrow. And not only was Biden boring he took on the role of attack dog pathetically...
Biden ran down a list of Obama's "legislative record" which afterwards - even left-leaning Nina Easton admitted, "this makes Obama's thin record" look even worse."
Then Biden went beyond the pale in repeated questioning of John McCain's judgment. I have questioned McCain's methods, and his temper, but I've never questioned his desire to see what was best for America be at the fore of his rationale for the "why" he did what he did.
I think it is a tremendously overplayed mistake for Biden to "go there." And that fundamentally it shows a desperation of a ticket that by all mathematical equations should be light-years ahead in this race, but is actually struggling to stay even.
Disagreement with McCain's ideas should be how they go about selling themselves. Attacking McCain's judgment and thereby his character is just a losing proposition. Especially since you can guarantee there will be massive tribute to his painful sacrifice to his nation in the GOP meetings coming up next week.
Clinton was the toughest nugget of the night, unfortunately for Obama he did not appear in the 10pm hour which was carried by the networks.
Instead we got a national helping of the Senator so boring I wanted to stab my hand with a fork just to prove to myself that I was still awake...

Affirmative Action: Nomination Style |

He couldn't have done it without her... Did Hillary just attempt to secure her spot on the United States Supreme Court? Perhaps so. In one of the most unsurprising moments in the convention - given that the plan had been leaked to the media since SUNDAY that she would do it - Hillary Clinton called for the suspension of the count, and the affirmation of Barack Obama to be the nominee by voice vote. She had more votes cast for her. She had more supporters, and depending on how Florida and Michigan would've gone in the actual count, she could have had more votes on the floor at the convention. Knowing that Hillary doesn't do anything without triangulating something out of the deal for herself, one has to wonder - WHAT did she get? And WHEN does she get it? History in the making indeed, but isn't it sad - that it wasn't done the way every other Democratic nominee has been nominated in this brief century - or the previous? Even when I was the first pundit to predict that Obama would be the nominee - I never believed it would come down to hi-jinx, smoke-filled rooms, and the promise of Hillary looming large in the Supreme Court's future... It's actually a pretty slimy way for a man who is a descendant of several races to be back-doored into the nomination...

18 million votes peeps! 10 generic mentions of Obama, and all of them attached to her own accomplishments. She toted him around like Paris Hilton does her purse puppy.
She also rubbed his nose in his poo and put him back in his cage.
Hillary showed to the world tonight quite likely why she might have HAD more actual votes in the Democratic primary than Obama did. But aside from a couple of glancing blows (not head on collisions) on the "possible policies" of John McCain she did nothing to help her ticket at all.
Look its easy to come out and repeat the written script from the teleprompter that says "I support Barack Obama."
But in very Clintonian style and ease, Hillary just set herself up for the 2012 run when she very covertly helps the Obamas NOT make history in 2008.
End of story...

Rick Warren: "'Above My Pay Grade' is UNACCEPTABLE!" |

No good...
"No. I think he needed to be more specific on that. I happen to disagree with Barack on that. Like I said, he's a friend. But to me, I would not want to die and get before God one day and go, 'Oh, sorry, I didn't take the time to figure out' because if I was wrong then it had severe implications to my leadership if I had the ability to do something about it. He should either say, 'No scientifically, I do not believe it's a human being until X' or whatever it is or to say, 'Yes, I believe it is a human being at X point,' whether it's conception or anything else. But to just say 'I don't know' on the most divisive issue in America is not a clear enough answer for me. That's why to say that evangelicals are a monolith is a myth, but the other thing is that you've been hearing a lot of the press talk about 'Well, evangelicals are changing, they're now interested in poverty and disease and illiteracy, and all the stuff I've been talking about for five years now. And I have been seeding that into the evangelical movement and it's getting picked up and a lot of people are talking about doing humanitarian efforts. But I really think it's wishful thinking on a lot of people who think they're going to drop the other issues. They're not leaving pro-life, I'm just trying to expand the agenda.... If an evangelical really believes that the Bible is literal--in other word in Psalm 139 God says 'I formed you in your mother's womb and before you were born I planned every day of your life,' if they believe that's literally true, then they can't just walk away from that. They can add other issues, but they can't walk away from the belief that at conception God planned that child and to abort it would be to short circuit the purpose."

Rick Warren: "King-maker!" |
|

 "I'm the man!"
"The primaries proved that Americans care deeply about the faith, values, character and leadership convictions of candidates as much as they do about the issues. While I know both men as friends and they recognize I will be frank, but fair, they also know I will be raising questions in these four areas beyond what political reporters typically ask. This includes pressing issues that are bridging divides in our nation, such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, climate and human rights."
Now - I'm not sure what Warren believes he is referring to in the "four areas beyond what political reporters typically ask" but I will tell you that the four things he's listed do not qualify. Primarily because these are four of the MOST OFTEN asked about "areas."
And is Rick Warren seriously going to discuss 'Global Warming' - despite the fact that 2008 has been a wrecking ball from the science community to the theory that Al Gore enriched himself off of? Seriously? More than 50,000 climatologists, meteorologists, and earth scientists - not to mention prominent, classroom isolated, academic science types ALL now refuting the key components to the overly hyped theory? So overly hyped now that the British public school system is not allowed to show the Gore film without disclaiming as entirely propaganda? What does this have to do with a "faith and values" conference?
Warren has also consistently NEVER spared the opportunity to allow Obama to preach his Gospel of Condoms, and to date he's also not disputed it.
But has Warren seen the PEPFAR legislation (emergency aid to Africa for aids relief) that the Congress these two Senators belong to have been working on in recent weeks? Does he know about the abortive language fight that ensued over the 'Global Fund' using U.S. dollars from our emergency HIV/AIDS aid to perform mandated abortions?
Will Warren allow groups like Compassion International to share the stage this year and speak about the work they are actually doing in the pandemic regions of Africa, bringing children HIV/AIDS cocktail meds AND the gospel of Jesus Christ - as opposed to the gospel of prophylactics?
What this conference really does is allow Rick Warren another notch in the belt of his "reach, influence, and power." Something he has become accustomed to with no measurable, tangible results to show for all the money spent in holding this annual soiree'.
